Community, Colour, and Character
The newly appointed trustees of the Stickler Syndrome UK charity aimed to revamp their communications to foster deeper connections with their community and enhance fundraising efforts.
As the charity works on updating its status and securing additional funding, the trustees engaged us to rebrand and develop a website.
Our colourful and characterful new interim branding and website increased community engagement and a brilliant 300% boost in fundraising.

Crafting a unified brand look and message
We carefully crafted an uplifting brand that took into account vision impairment that commonly affects people with Stickler Syndrome. Once tested and approved it was implemented across all the charity's communications.

Providing essential resources for all ages
The important work of the charity includes education and support. We have created PDF resources, email newsletters and crucial online content whilst always ensuring easy accessibility.

Engagement through conference and events
The charity's message has reached a wider audience through the website and social media. This led to a successful conference that brought together community members and medical professionals.
“We are thrilled with our bold new brand identity and website. The community focus of the website has provided broader audience engagement and resulted in increased donations and fundraising. This has allowed the charity to deliver better support to the Stickler Syndrome community and has created the foundation that gives us the opportunity to grow by accessing additional funding and grants.”
Successful engagment builds a thriving community
The main purpose of the rebrand was to rebuild the charity's profile in order to increase community engagement and awareness across all audiences, but it was also succesful in creating stronger links with medical professionals and enlarging the audience across the UK and EIRE.
Community Engagement
We created a branded fundraiser toolkit for community members, helping them with social media and event hosting. People from Italy and Scandinavia discovered the website and attended the conference.
Professional Engagement
Medical professionals were enthusiastic to participate in the conference and engage with the charity and community on important support and research initiatives.

Brand development and implementation
We help charities in establishing a robust brand and digital presence to effectively support their communities. Here's an overview of our process with Stickler Syndrome UK.
Creating the brand and website
Following a brand audit and research we created a brand with an uplifting community focus. Interim guidelines for typography, colour and imagery were developed. As the primary hub for interaction the website was built in Webflow and set up to give the charity control over hosting and content. Consideration was given to creating distinct areas for community and medical content through colour and graphics. The trustees were invited to give feedback at important stages and the website was tested by members of their project team.

Implementing the brand
Given that vision impairment is a high-risk symptom of Stickler Syndrome, website accessibility was crucial. Our designs were rigorously tested with a particular emphasis on compatibility with screen readers. We then implemented the branding across social media, email newsletters, print media, merchandise, signage and fundraising assets.

Supporting fundraisers and projects
The new look has inspired several fundraising initiatives, which we have supported with branded social media assets and items for event hosting. The results exceeded expectations and provided funding for projects such as improvements in hospital experience for children and families attending specialist clinic areas.

Future aspirations
The focus remains on sustainable growth and deeper community engagement. Stickler Syndrome UK aims to enhance the website by adding online membership features, boosting fundraising efforts, and providing a platform for symptom feedback to assist with ongoing research into Stickler Syndrome and associated rare disorders.
Getting earlier pathways to diagnosis really can be a key to preventing life-changing sight loss at young ages.
